It did not take long for Tyler Starich to fit back into the Minnesota Wilderness lineup.
After beginning the season with the Jersey Rockets of the NCDC and USPHL Premier, Starich returned to the Wilderness Nov. 21 and last weekend became the first Wilderness player of the 2025-26 season to earn a NA3HL weekly honor.
The forward from Eau Claire, WI, claimed the West Division’s First Star of the Week for his performance Nov. 28-29 vs. the Mason City Toros. Starich recorded five points (3 goals/2 assists) in the 2-game series, which Minnesota split with the Toros thanks to a 5-2 win in Saturday’s contest.
That victory snapped a 9-game losing streak for the Wilderness, and Starich came through by scoring two goals, including the game-winner, and added one assist.
In Friday’s series-opener, Starich posted one goal and one assist in a 6-3 loss.
More details on Starich’s performance can be found on the NA3HL site.
The Wilderness return home to the Eveleth Hippodrome this weekend (Dec. 5-6) for a series vs. the Alexandria Blizzard. Friday’s contest is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., followed by a 6:05 p.m. start on Saturday.
