The busiest weekend of the summer for the Minnesota Wilderness has begun as Main Camp for the 2025-26 season kicks off today. 55-60 players will be evaluated by Wilderness staff through Sunday morning at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia, MN.
Players will be divided among four teams that will scrimmage tonight and throughout Saturday. On Sunday, the best of the camp’s younger players will participate in a Futures game set for 8:30 a.m., while the best prospects to make the team will compete in an all-star game at 10:15 a.m.
The Wilderness are entering their second season in the NA3HL and will once again play their home games at the Hippodrome in Eveleth, MN. The season opener is set for September 12th in Mason City, IA, against the Mason City Toros. Fans can look forward to the home-opener on October 10th, when the Wilderness will face off against the Granite City Lumberjacks.
Head coach/general manager Chris Ratzloff, assistant coach Paddy Elsmore and assistant general manager Jonah Williams will lead the evaluation of this weekend’s camp. The best players will be invited to return for pre-season activities/practices beginning Sept. 1. The Wilderness must be down to 25 tendered players by opening day.
